Sometime in 1966, Hope Campers was formally organized, and Mr.
Tam Kiem Bo was the first troop leader (scoutmaster) of Hope
Campers, under the Boy Scouts of China. Initially there are two
troops formed, one troop for senior scouts comprising 4 patrols,
and the other troop is for boy and cub scouts. Mr. Tam was well
advanced in years, and decided to hand over the job to Mr. Po
Sun To in 1968. Two years later, Mr. Po left the Hope Campers
and Mr. Alfredo Soon, then was a college student assumed the
post as the third scout master of Hope Campers.
Hope Campers always joined hands with the sponsoring institution
Hope Christian High School, in indoor and outdoor services.
Humanitarian and Community Services are some of the programs of
this troop. |
